Team Rapids: Tackling Big Goals (And Maybe a Few Tackling Dummies)

Wow, what a year it’s been! Since launching our endowment with the Incourage Community Foundation last May, Team Rapids has been moving faster than a running back on game day.

We’ve been busy—like, “coaches with a clipboard and a whistle” busy. We built a website (teamrapidsfund.com) so you can find us online (because let’s be honest, if it’s not on the internet, does it even exist?). We also launched a Facebook page (Team Rapids) because nothing says community like a well-placed GIF and some inspiring sports quotes. Oh, and let’s not forget the brochure—because sometimes, you just need some good old-fashioned paper to explain why we do what we do.

Beyond the tech and fancy printed materials, we’ve been out in the real world, talking to people, schools, and organizations to spread our mission. Here’s what we’ve learned so far:

🏈 Football gear isn’t cheap—helmets, pads, and jerseys add up faster than a scoreboard in a high-scoring game.

💰 Fundraising is a full-time job for players and coaches, and let’s just say selling cookies and car washes can only go so far.

🚧 There are real barriers preventing youth from participating in sports and clubs, and we’re working hard to tackle those challenges (figuratively, of course—no actual tackling happened in our meetings).

This is just the beginning! We’ll be sharing more updates, progress, and (hopefully) success stories in future blogs. Stay tuned, and if you’re feeling inspired, join us in making a difference. After all, teamwork makes the dream work!
