On Wednesday, June 25, 2025, the TEAM RAPIDS KICKOFF EVENT was at the scenic Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids. The event marked the official launch of the Team Rapids Endowment, a new initiative dedicated to supporting teams, clubs and activities involving our youth.
Originally created to support the 6-12 football program in the Wisconsin Rapids School District, the endowment gives grants that support non-funded school clubs and activities, along with helping students and families overcome barriers that prevent them from participating in these activities.
The evening honored the incredible legacy of Coach Tony Biolo, who retired after years of unwavering leadership, mentorship, and championship spirit. Friends, families, and alumni paid tribute to his impact both on and off the field.
To emphasize the transformative power of high school football and other extracurriculars, three distinguished football alumni took the stage to share their journeys and the lasting impact of their time at Lincoln High School:
- Mark Krommenacker, Class of 2005
- Vince Biegel, Class of 2011
- Tom Bergerson, Class of 1980
Their stories served as powerful reminders of how participation in high school athletics and activities can shape character, build lifelong skills, and strengthen community connections.
The event also welcomed Coach Mike Krenz as the new head coach, ushering in an exciting chapter for the Lincoln Red Raiders football program. With energy, optimism, and shared commitment, attendees left inspired by the promise of what’s ahead for Team Rapids.
